[Music swells]
This is your captain speaking, and we're about to set sail into Memorial Day weekend.
Maybe that's a lakeside patio with a cold glass of something crisp. Maybe it's your back deck with the grill warming up and nowhere to be until Tuesday.
The forecast is calling for smooth sailing and we’re throwing on Christopher Cross to ease us into the evening.
It’s Memorial Day weekend. We’ll see you on the lake.
Domaine Tetta from Japan is in the house at LoLo tonight with Ryuta (Okayama) bringing wines that never seem to stay on their shelves longer than a week.
Plus a serious lineup from the D-I crew: Coco, Fattoria AL FIORE, Sylvain Martinez, Julien Meyer, Domaine Brand and more. Oh, and Bad Larry Burger Club is handling food on the flattop while DJ On Brand spins until midnight.
This is the kind of night that sets the tone for the whole weekend. 6pm-12am at LoLo.
SAF Wine Bar & Nosh quietly opened in Lakeway - 23 wines by the glass, 80 by the bottle, and that Lake Travis energy we've been missing. Worth the trek if you're looking for something different.
Mark Your Calendar: Hill Country Wine Festival & Toast of Texas 2025
Next Saturday's Hill Country Galleria Wine & Food Festival is worth considering. The passport-style setup lets you wander between 22+ wine stations with food from The League, Tony C's, and Buenos Aires Café. VIP gets you a seated tasting with sommelier Steve Alley before the main event.
Speaking of events worth the hype - Toast of Texas is Sunday, June 8th at Assembly Hall. 25+ Texas wineries, 120+ wines, BBQ, and paella!
Maybe it's just us, but we're hoping this summer's Hill Country visitors remember that wine tasting isn't a race. Keep it classy out there - the wineries (and locals) will thank you.
